Doug McCoy, CEO, Eastern Plumas Health Care
On July 9, 2020 two Eastern Plumas Health Care (EPHC) staff members were identified as positive for the COVID-19 virus. With strict prevention protocols already in place, EPHC immediately tested all of Portola Skilled Nursing Staff and residents which all came back negative. There are no new cases of COVID-19 in the Skilled Nursing facility as a result of this situation.
The ongoing prevention protocols were successful in not only identifying an asymptomatic case but prevented a potential outbreak to the facility and community.
Since the initial pandemic began, EPHC has been diligent in following both CDC and County Public Health guidelines to maintain the safety of our residents, patients, staff members, and the community.
We continue to work with County Public Health for contact tracing as well as re-testing of all employees and residents in our Skilled Nursing facilities. We will continue to maintain our prevention protocols which have been in place since March across all our campus locations.
In addition to our internal testing program, we continue to work with Public Health to provide scheduled drive up testing services to aid in the prevention of infection within our community.
Please remember to practice social distancing, hand washing and wear a mask.
