Eastern Plumas Health Care offers the only emergency services and acute care hospital in Eastern Plumas and Sierra Counties. Volunteer with our Hospital Auxiliary

For over fifty years, Eastern Plumas Health Care's Auxiliary has dedicated itself to improving healthcare in our community. Its primary volunteer focus is the Nifty Thrifty, the thrift store located at 116 Commercial Street in Portola. Nifty Thrifty's reputation for cleanliness and quality goods makes it essential to the Auxiliary's fundraising efforts. Over its lifetime, the Auxiliary has contributed close to $2 million to EPHC. Donations include an ambulance-to-emergency room EKG transmission system, a digital dental x-ray camera, colonoscopy equipment, and hydraulic gurneys. Other contributions include major contributions towards the purchase of the Electronic Medical Record system, the digital mammography machine, and ultrasound equipment.

In addition to purchasing equipment for EPHC's hospital and clinics, Auxiliary activities include organizing blood drives, providing scholarships to EPHC staff members who are continuing education in their fields, and assisting with hospital outreach events such as EPHC's Annual Wellness Fair.

For one day, The Brewing Lair and Ricochet Café are donating part of their proceeds to Eastern Plumas Health Care. The EPHC Foundation has identified these partners to support their goals by fostering goodwill in the community and providing supplemental financial support for Eastern Plumas Health Care and its services.

Wine Dinner Fundraiser

Enjoy legendary cuisine at The Drifter’s Table in Loyalton, as their chef serves up a 5 course meal, and their wine expert perfectly pairs reds and whites for your delight. Appetizers will be served inside their intimate dining room, while dinner will be served outside on the patio. All proceeds benefit Eastern Plumas Health Care. Seating is limited to 40 people.
