Eastern Plumas Health Care is pleased to welcome Dr. R. Douglas Collins. Dr. Collins is Board Certified in both Neurology and Internal Medicine. He’s also certified in pain management and provides alternatives to narcotic treatment, including trigger point releases.

Dr. Collins will be here beginning June 1 and will be here for the first two weeks in June. Initially, Dr. Collins will be at the Portola Clinic, working there two weeks per month, five days a week. We anticipate scheduling him in the Graeagle Clinic starting in July.

Also, Dermatology specialist, Melanie Buckley, P.A., will join the staff later in June. She’ll be at the Portola Clinic one Friday a month. Depending on demand for her services, she’ll add an additional Friday or Monday. There is a great need for dermatology in this area, as evidenced by the fact that she has close to 20 appointments booked prior to her arrival. Melanie is a physician’s assistant, with advanced training in dermatology. She also has extensive experience working with a dermatologist in Truckee.
